My celebration came too soon

We accept the mission and are teleported to the entrance of the valley. Almost immediately, the denizens take notice of us and rush in our direction with deadly intent. Redcaps, pixies, and centaurs and joined by sabertooths and piglings in the waves of enemies who stand in our way. The clock is ticking so we march forward, dispatching all in our path. However, it isn't long before a new, literal obstacle appears before us: our resourceful fey foes have blockaded the trail with barrels and fences, no doubt "borrowed" from abandoned outposts.
In a decidedly cavalier fashion, Everon leads the group out of the camp, but not before being approached by one more person in need. Hunter Kadhim, having overheard of our plan to rescue Jerelyn, tells us that the camp would greatly benefit if we could slay a group of the corrupted creatures roaming the area and bring back their polluted seals as proof of a job well done. Everon dismissively waved him off, but Amareth, in her infinite wisdom, takes the time to deal with Kadhim. In retrospect, Everon agrees that everyone in the camp shares the same plight and that we need to help resolve every problem we encounter for the good of Fey Forest; but time is of the essence here, people! There's a damsel in distress!

My celebration came too soon, however. Mere feet away from the scrap of cloth, we find a large quantity of blood covering the ground and surrounding brush. Things aren't looking good for poor Jerelyn (or my chances with Jessalin...). I'm an optimist though, I'm sure we'll find her... and sadly, we do.
